Thus, you need to be proficient in German language and go through  levels A1, A2, B1, and B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Its enough to to have B1 certificate from Goethe or ECl institute in India. B2 can be done after reaching Germany.

It will help you effectively communicate with the patients, colleagues, and doctors in Germany. The exam will test your ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend German at a required level.

Applying directly from India for a position of nurse in Germany is not possible as one needs to have a license/registration certificate from the nursing council of Germany first. In order to get a license to practice as a nurse in Germany, foreign nurses have to a do a preparatory course in Germany and pass the licensing exam, both of which are conducted only in German language and inside Germany. Local German recruitment companies have tie ups with private nursing academies in Germany to prepare for the licensing exam. Foreign nurses do not have to pay for this course and exam.

The license exam in Germany is an oral viva of 40 min. conducted only in German language and basic questions related to surgery, diabetes, thyroid, blood pressure management, etc. are asked. Also there is a practical exam the next day. Our 10 year old partner academy in Hannover can surely prepare you for this exam through its 3 month intensive course in which all the basic topics related to nursing are taught in German language.
